This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands,-- This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England. ~~William Shakespeare, Richard III

Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Harold the King, Helen Hollick

A restlessness that had been consuming Harold since his success in Wales spread and took root in him like a black canker.

The new-awakened lure of adventure, action and excitement bucked within him. He was bored by the routine inactivity of Edward's court.

  1. Sounds like an exciting read! Hope you're enjoying it. Love the teaser.
    Here's mine.

  2. Brilliant! I adore Helen Hollick's novels and this is one I have not had the pleasure to read, yet. My TT:

  3. Not my usual read, but the teaser is good! Might have to check out the book :)
    HERE is my teaser for the first day of June!

  4. Great teaser! I am hoping to read Pendragon's Banner soon.
