This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands,-- This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England. ~~William Shakespeare, Richard III

Site of Battle of Bosworth Found

Lots of news stories coming out today about how researchers have finally found (or are as close to certain as you can be) the site of the Battle of Bosworth...and its not where it was originally thought to be. From what all the articles have said, its about two miles "down the road." This certainly doesn't detract me from my goal of trying to visit the site if I can get to England in the spring.

Here's a link to one article about this news.

  1. I was just reading about this myself. I think it is a very exciting find, and I would love to go there at some point in the future!
