This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands,-- This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England. ~~William Shakespeare, Richard III

How Did You Find Me?

So I clicked on over to see if there were any amusing keywords or phrases that people used to find my blog. Not many but there were a few that had me scratching my head!

1. tudor sea monsters
that would've brought a whole new element to the series...

2. new book henry viii wall
if you're confused about this one you're not alone

3. things that the first letter is A alphabet
that really narrows down the search field

4. "Isabella Plantagenet" OR "Isabella * Plantagenet" OR "Plantagenet, Isabella" ~genealogy OR ~ancestry~
making sure all the bases are covered aren't we? random punctuation is always fun too

How Did You Find Me?

After seeing Susan Higginbotham's wonderful posts about the search terms users have used to find her blog, I thought it would be amusing to see how folks found mine! There weren't too many amusing ones but there were a couple that gave me a chuckle...

jean beaufort queen consort portrait (I missed this queen somewhere in my reading)

Prince Charles miss gwyn (I must have made quite an impression at tea)

There were also about 8 that had to do with the movie Ironclad.

But I must say thank you to everyone who ambles on by my blog here!

Happy Blogiversary to Me!

Wow! I can't believe I've had this blog for a year now! Time surely does fly when you're having fun! I started my blog last year after my Book Club read Jen Lancaster's Bitter is the New Black. It was a really fun book (really, you should read it) and I thought this thing called blogging could be fun ... Ms. Lancaster certainly had fun with her's!

So I started my blog here at Blogspot. I was just blogging about random things for the first month or so as I had no real direction for it at that point. Then, and I don't remember how, I began to stumble across some of the lovely blogs I now follow that talk about historical fiction (my favorite thing!). Hmmm....this looked interesting. In July of last year I posted a review about two books I had recently read (Katherine and Queen of Shadows) with the intent of posting one review a month. After that everything just started to come together as I began posting my "This Day in History" bit and found I really loved doing book review.

And here I am today (a bit behind in my reviews at the moment but I have a 2 1/2 year old running around so please forgive me!), thoroughly enjoying this blog I have created and really enjoying the folks I have met through it!

Thanks to everyone who follows my blog!

Looking for Suggestions and Opinions!

I have been tossing the idea around lately to change the name of my blog. It has crossed my mind that the name may not really represent what I include on my blog. I like the name but have wondered if it just doesn't...fit.

That being said, I have found my creativity streak sadly lacking of late and have had no luck coming up with a possible new name. So, I ask those of you who follow my blog two questions:

1. Should I consider changing the name of my blog?

and

2. If I change it can you give me some suggestions? :)

Way Behind!

I am incredibly behind on my book reviews but the past couple of weeks have been quite hectic around here. I've gotten behind on everything here - reviews, weekly memes, discussion posts, etc. I'm hoping to get my reviews ready to go for next week so I can start getting caught up on them all! To be honest, I was caught up in watching the Olympics and just READING!

Here are the reviews you have to look forward to:

Leslie Carroll's Royal Affairs
Robin Maxwell's Virgin: Prelude to the Throne
Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey
Sharon Kay Penman's Falls the Shadow

Thanks again!

Just wanted to give another thanks to those of you who responded to my SOS earlier!!

Thank you for the hints and advice and I'm happy to say...I figured out how to make my blog with 3 columns. Yay. (everyone clap)

But my blog looks no different and there are only 2 columns, you say? Yes. You can count correctly, don't worry! I did indeed figure out how to make 3 columns. Unfortunately, my pretty background is only set for 2 columns. So until the creators make a 3 column version (or I find another background that I like and so far I have been amazingly unsuccessful) it will stay 2 columns.

Sad face.

But thank you for all the help! I know how to do it now!!

Need More Blog Help!!!!

Yes...I come posting another question about the technical sides of this blog! Hahahaha. I used to be so knowledgeable about computer stuff...guess technology has moved right on past me. :)

So, the issue I need help with today:

I would like to have a 3 column blog. I've seen others with this but I do not see a blogger template with three columns. Is there a 3 column template I don't know about?

Someone PLEASE help!!!
